Mike is an award-winning teacher, administrator and educational leader. He served as the CEO of CUE from 2005-2017, expanding the nonprofit’s impact. He also directed the California Student Media Festival (mediafestival.org) for a decade - an effort he continues to support as a volunteer. In 2023, he was named one of the Top 100 Influencers in EdTech. He has been an ISTE board officer and served on the UNESCO Expert Group on Mobile Learning, the board of the National Coalition for Technology in Education and Training (NCTET) and is an Expert Advisor for the California Emerging Technology Fund (CETF). In 2011, he was honored as one of the "20 to Watch in Educational Technology'' and in 2013, was recognized with the ISTE Making IT Happen award. He co-founded the Google Certified Teacher (now Innovator) and Leading Edge Certification programs, was an Apple Distinguished Educator, and supported the development of ISTE Certification and the Discovery Educator Network (DEN). He was Senior Director of Educator Engagement at PowerSchool for three years, overseeing customer advocacy for 45 million students in 80+ countries. He now serves as Education Leadership Executive at Jamf, leading strategic learning and development initiatives worldwide.
