As Administrators, we have the responsibility to take the lead on our campuses and districts. Currently in California, our teachers are often ahead of Administrators with respect to the integration of technology in classrooms. It is time for Administrators to join the efforts of our teachers to not only understand the possibilities, but also help lead the way in supporting local and state-wide trends that will allow our students greater success on our campuses. It will be through our leadership that teachers will have the support to think outside the box and students will have the chance to achieve at even greater levels. These dynamic changes will improve education, strengthen our implementation of CCSS, and produce a generation of individuals capable of critical thinking, comfortable with change, and ready to take on the challenges of the 21st century.
In this session you will:
1. Explore technology options for connecting on your campus and with other Administrators in your district, around the state, and around the world: Twitter, G+, Voxer, LinkedIn
2. Discuss how technology is a game-changer for CCSS by looking at some of the technology-enhanced trends in education at the moment such as blogging, 20% time, PBL, e-portfolios, flipping, SAMR, GAFE
3. Consider the impact on your campus culture of “changing the game” by removing the concept of failure
4. Talk about the benefits of Social Media for your office as well as your classrooms
5. Develop an action plan that you can take back to your site/district to ultimately change the culture on your campus
